Here you'll find a hodge podge of stuff that will hopefully make our lives as real adults a little more...adult.  Apparently it becomes less cool and more pathetic that the majority of your glassware consists of pint glasses stolen from various bars as you get older...

What's For Dinner?

3/31/2013

So we finally managed to make it to Harrisburg to try to take care of some wedding logistics.  Priority #1?  Picking out the eats to eat.

Emily (maid of honor), Aaron and I ate ourselves silly as we did our best to pick the best.  Emily's beef-hating ways meant more filet for us, but also helped make sure the non-beef entrees were well selected.

Appetizers

Appetizers will include:

     *  Crudités
     *  Assorted Cheese & Crackers
     *  Spanikopita
     *  Swedish Meatballs
     * Prosciutto and Smoked Mozzarella Crostini (surprisingly this is served cold, but is still delicious)
     * Assorted Mini Quiche

Salad

We went with the arugala and mixed greens salad with pear, cranberries, goat cheese and walnuts and a pomegranate cranberry vinaigrette.
NOTE:  If you don't like/can't have any of the salad ingredients, just let us know.  The chef assured us that they can be "made-to-order".

ENTREES

Gorganzola Crusted Filet Mignon
with Port Demi Glace
Served with truffled mashed potatoes and asparagus

How can you go wrong with a Filet?  (unless you're a beef hater like Emily).  The default cooking temperature will be medium rare.  If that's a bit too bloody for you, have no fear.  Just let us know when you RSVP and we'll do our best to have it made as you like it.

Gruyere Cheese, Prosciutto and Spinach-Stuffed Chicken Roulade
Served with garlic mashed potatoes & julienne vegetables

I never order chicken at weddings.  It's usually some stuffed atrocity that leaves you with nothing but filet-envy and entree regret.  But this is worth trying.  How can you go with anything stuffed with gruyere, prosciutto and spinach?  Amazing.  I'll probably go with this...but still pilfer a little filet from Aaron.

Vegetarians.  So often doomed to settle for lukewarm pasta with some mushy concoction of frozen vegetables that's passed off as "primavera".  Hopefully our choice for the vegetarian option doesn't disappoint.  It's flavorful, filling, and a great option for chicken/cow sympathizers.

So watch your mail for the invitations and choose wisely on your RSVP card.  And remember, you can also opt to RSVP online. More details to follow...
